INTRODUCTION
Headdress , also known as headband ,
setanjak / dance pose , head and wrap a handkerchief head , is a traditional
head coverings worn by men . Headdress made of songket cloth length folded and tied in the
style ( makeup ) specified . Nowadays , more headdress worn in ceremonies full
of customs, for example by royalty and the audience in the royal ceremonial
occasion , and by the groom during the wedding ceremony .
ORIGIN OF THE NAME HEADDRESS
By Kamus Dewan ( 4th edition ) , the term " headdress " , " headband " , and " setanjak " / " ascending " are synonymous . In addition to those described above , the word " headdress " also refers to the " headscarf or veil of fabric ( silk etc.) worn by women " , meaning it under his head headdress lady rarely used these days .
However , some people say that the headdress , headband , and ascending is different in terms of the type of fabric or bonding although similar uses, which is the base of the head headdress made of high quality fabric coated with a girth ( thickness ) and tapers upwards ," headband " girth is low and thin compared headdress ; " ascending " nor girth like headdress , but the fabric is more compact and thinner.
HEADDRESS HISTORY
It is accepted that the headdress was created as early as in the days of the Malacca Sultanate . The general name for a different headdress is a " solek" . Each different “solek”headdress was also given a special name,for example,the headdress worn by the Yang di - Pertuan Agong in a ceremony coronation ceremony since the country 's independence day , known as " Solek Have Been Revenge " .Each Raja Melayu wearing a special headdress “solek” . For example , Sultan wearing " Solek Bone King " golden yellow color when fully attending his coronation or birthday .
TYPES OF HEADDRESS
1)TERENGGANU DARUL IMAN(TANAK LANG MELAYANG)
- The headband worn by the chiefs of State Datuk. This headband is known as Lang Float and “solek” worn only on certain occasions .
2)PERLIS INDERA KAYANGAN(TENGKOLOK PUTERA KAYANGAN)
-Destar was once used by the late Al - D.Y.M.M. Tunku Syed Putra Ibni Syed Hassan Al - late Jamalullai , Raja Perlis in 1957 when he signed the declarations of independence of Malaya. Like other royal headband Natar color is yellow royal . Three folds essentially folds and leaves destarnya also facing up .
3)SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN(TANJAK SEBANG SELAT)

4)PERAK DARUL RIDZUAN(TANJAK PUCUK PISANG PATAH)
